DESCRIPTION:Kids/Teens Outdoor Yoga Workshop August 7th: This special workshop will expose children to the wonder of yoga as we introduce them to the mind-body connection.  We will learn different yoga poses\, tell stories\, play games and learn how to relax and breath.  Children are sure to leave feeling calm\, connected and serene.  Tweens and teens will experience a range of yoga poses\, partner poses\, breathing techniques and meditation to help them navigate their teen years.  Both the kids and teens will have the opportunity to take advantage of our beautiful surroundings at Great Hollow as we get in touch with our environment and discover the energy and peacefulness of nature. DESCRIPTION:Kid’s Salamander Survey Day!\nCome enjoy a citizen science-based workshop where we will discover and learn about the species of salamanders that inhabit our streams at Great Hollow. Our workshop will be a “hands on” experience for kids to get in ankle-deep water and learn the skills and techniques biologists use to uncover these secretive critters. We will also learn about the much overlooked critical role that salamanders play in our ecosystems. SUMMARY:The Bobcat - Connecticut’s Secretive Wild Cat
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fascinating presentation on the natural history of Bobcats in Connecticut by Master Wildlife Conservationist\, Paul Colburn. We’ll hear about this elusive cat’s diet\, behavior\, and reproduction\, and the habitats in CT in which it lives.  Bobcat artifacts will be shared with the audience.\n   Paul Colburn is a certified Master Wildlife Conservationist through the CT DEEP.  He is past President of Residents Advocating Conservation\, has been active in youth athletics and served on many local boards and commissions.  His interests include the outdoors\, nature\, hiking\, biking\, politics\, and travel.  Paul holds a BA from Wesleyan University and served honorably in the United States Army.
