DESCRIPTION:**This event has been postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 outbreak** \nCalling all kids! It’s time to celebrate spring! We’ll spend the afternoon exploring the natural world as it comes back to life after a long\, sleepy winter. We’ll recreate the long and difficult journey of a migratory bird\, explore the woods for signs of life\, and maybe spot a baby animal (or two) in the wild if we’re lucky! \nThis is a drop-off program open to children ages 5 to 10. $10 per child for members; $15 per child for non-members. SUMMARY:Guided Hike with Friends of the Great Swamp
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED \nJoin our naturalist\, John Foley\, and members of Friends of the Great Swamp (FrOGS) for a special guided hike\, exploring Great Hollow’s fields and forests. We will learn to differentiate calls of migratory birds\, identify spring-blooming plants\, and learn how timber harvesting can be beneficial to forest health. The hike will be fairly easy but will include a few short\, steep sections uphill and downhill. Please dress appropriately\, wear proper footwear for trail hiking\, bring water\, and don’t forget your binoculars! Free for members and non-members. No dogs\, please. We will meet in the Great Hollow parking lot at 10 am. Please register by emailing John at jfoley@greathollow.org.
