Great Hollow offers low-cost experiential environmental education programs for schools and other youth groups of all ages. We use our 825-acre preserve as an outdoor classroom to illustrate for kids several fundamental concepts of environmental science and ecology that they may or may not have previously learned about in school. We can also come to you and provide programming at your school or facility. Program themes range from aquatic ecology and water quality to forest ecology and animal adaptations. Students learn fun and important field biology skills, such as how to collect and identify invertebrates, take water quality samples, measure trees, track radio-tagged animals, and use many other field research tools. Please view our Program Catalog and contact our education coordinator Tara at for more information or to schedule a program.
