Astronomy Night

Join us on September 9th for an astronomy event that will be out of this world! The Litchfield Hills Amateur Astonomy Club will be here to teach us “how the sky works” and then take us out for some stargazing with their high-power telescopes. Ever look at the sky and wonder why the stars rise in the East and set in the West? For that matter, why does the Sun rise in the East? Why not the North or the West? And why does a particular star rise 4 minutes later each day? We’ll answer these questions and many more. No prior knowledge of astronomy is required – just curiosity! Please bring binoculars and a red flashlight, if you have them. As with most of our community events, a suggested donation of $5/person for non-members is greatly appreciated.
