Introducing Our New Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Great Hollow

We’re pleased to introduce herpetologist, Griffin Nicholson, as the newest member of the Great Hollow team. Dr. Nicholson recently completed his Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Texas A&M University studying the impacts of non-native frog species on the threatened Chiricahua leopard frog in New Mexico. Dr. Nicholson previously received a dual-major B.S. in Biology and Environmental Science from UCLA, where he studied the impact of road mortality on the western pond turtle. He has conducted field research on reptiles and amphibians in the southwestern U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica, St. Croix, and Borneo, and is the managing editor of the journal, Herpetological Review. For the next two years as a Great Hollow research fellow, Dr. Nicholson will be studying the impact of road mortality on wood turtles and the impacts of noise and light pollution on amphibians. He will also provide key support to our other research projects, lead outreach programs, and coordinate our summer internship program. Welcome, Griffin!
