First Day Hike

January 1, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Start off your year with a hike in the great outdoors! Get outside and enjoy the winter beauty of Great Hollow with our naturalist, John Foley while burning off some of those holiday calories. We will trek along our Red Trail, talking about some of the behavioral adaptations of animals that help them survive the winter, and if snow is present, we’ll look for tracks. We’ll also check out the new bridge above Tuckers Run waterfall that Great Hollow recently had constructed. Don’t forget to bring your binoculars to look for some of our resident winter birds! The hike is open to all ages and is generally easy. Please make sure to dress for the cold and wear appropriate footwear. A suggested donation of $5 per person for non-members is greatly appreciated. No dogs, please. To sign up, email John at .
